About Carl Wieman
Born 1951, American physicist Carl Wieman created the first Bose-Einstein condensate at Univ. of Colorado Boulder in 1995 with Eric Cornell. The pair, with Wolfgang Ketterle, won the 2001 Nobel Prize in Physics for BEC research. He also won the 2020 Yidan Prize for STEM education.
