Vanir god of sea, wind, & wealth. Father of Freyr & Freyja, his home is Nóatún. Njörðr's troubled marriage to Skaði is well-known. Attested in 13th-century Eddas & Heimskringla, veneration persisted in Norway until the 18th century. Some connect him to the earlier Germanic goddess Nerthus.
