About James Tiptree Jr.
Alice Sheldon (1915-1987), writing as James Tiptree Jr., was an American sci-fi author. The pseudonym, used from 1967, concealed her gender until 1977. Notable works include "The Girl Who Was Plugged In" (1974) and *Up the Walls of the World* (1978). She was inducted into the Science Fiction Hall of Fame in 2012.
