Inca administrative center (1460s) in modern-day Huánuco, Peru. Located on a high plateau, it controlled trade routes and multiple ethnic groups. The Qhapaq Ñan road passed through it, linking Cusco to Quito. Briefly occupied by the Spanish, its harsh climate led to abandonment.
