Japanese chemist, born 1930. Nobel laureate (2010) for developing the Suzuki reaction. Published in 1979, this organic reaction uses a palladium(0) complex to catalyze the coupling of aryl- or vinyl-boronic acid with an aryl- or vinyl-halide, creating new carbon-carbon bonds.
