Crested penguins belong to the *Eudyptes* genus ("true diver"). 4-8 species inhabit Subantarctic islands. All have black & white plumage, yellow crests, red bills/eyes. They lay two eggs, raising only the larger, second one. A Chatham Islands species went extinct recently.
