About Ra
Egyptian sun deity, Ra rose to prominence by the Fifth Dynasty (25th-24th centuries BC). Depicted as a falcon, he merged with Horus as Ra-Horakhty and later with Amun. Ra ruled the sky, Earth, and underworld, believed to be the first pharaoh. The Mnevis bull, Ra's embodiment, was centered in Heliopolis.
