Chinese chemist (b. 1930) who discovered artemisinin (Qinghaosu) & dihydroartemisinin, malaria treatments derived from sweet wormwood. Her work revolutionized tropical medicine, saving millions of lives across Asia, Africa, & South America. She won the 2015 Nobel Prize.
