About Shirin Ebadi
Iranian Nobel laureate (2003), born in 1947. Ebadi, a lawyer and human rights advocate, founded the Defenders of Human Rights Center in Iran. First Iranian to win the Peace Prize, recognized for work promoting democracy, women's, children's, and refugee rights. She served as a judge before exile to London in 2009.
