Fifth Dynasty pharaoh (c. 25th century BC) who reigned for 13 years. He launched naval expeditions to Lebanon and the Land of Punt, bringing back cedar, myrrh, and other goods. Sahure's pyramid complex is in Abusir, abandoning Saqqara and Giza, and has elaborate decoration.
