Kings of the Han dynasty
About Kings of the Han dynasty
Han kings (王, wáng) held semi-autonomous kingdoms after 206 BCE, reviving pre-Qin titles. Early kings were "yìxìng wáng" (different surnames), later replaced by "tóngxìng wáng" (same surname, Liu). Yìxìng wáng were eliminated by 157 BCE due to perceived threats. Post-154 BCE, tóngxìng wáng lost power, becoming akin to princes.
