Helios statue, built 280 BC by Chares of Lindos in Rhodes, Greece. A Wonder of the Ancient World, it honored Rhodes' defense against Demetrius I. The 33m bronze statue fell in an earthquake in 226 BC and was scrapped in 653 AD.
